Dear all,

Thanks for joining "DU-announce," the Digital Universe announcement list.

This is the first announcement we're making--more or less just to say
"Hello, we're hard at work."

Probably the most frequently updated source of news about the Digital
Universe is my blog, which you can read here:
http://www.dufoundation.org/blog/  Two of the blog's categories in
particular might be of interest: "DU - General"
(http://www.dufoundation.org/blog/?cat=7) and "DU - News"
(http://www.dufoundation.org/blog/?cat=4).

The DU will become increasingly participatory as we test and extend the use
of our portal-building tools.

For now, however, we have a request.  Do you know of any *expert-vetted*
information databases online, links to which might be imported into the DU?
Please write me back with information about such databases if you know of
them.  One feature that our programmers will be working on is an automatic
import of such pre-vetted material.
